Healthier You has taken extensive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of clients and staff. As an essential service, we should be able to remain open at our main office in Lake Road, Port Macquarie to serve and support you through this pandemic.

Our opening hours at our practice

When you come in to healthier You, you will see differences. Firstly, some familiar things have been removed. These include most of the waiting room chairs (to comply with social distance rules), the water dispenser, the magazines and our very popular free apples. We are also stopped the need to sign your payment slip. Finally, we are only allowing two people in the waiting room at any one time. These changes are aimed at protecting you.

We replaced them with hand sanitiser and wet wipes and ask you use them (or wash your hands) on entering the practice and on leaving. All of our equipment (desk tops, door handles, chairs, EFTPOS and BIA machine) are all cleaned after every person.

Everyone’s safety is paramount and I want to thank you all for participating in these changes at this time.

Telehealth – Consultations over Video or Phone

If you would prefer not to come in for your consultation, but want to stay on track with your plan, we provide consultations through telehealth (via ZOOM) or on the phone. Staying at home presents challenges to your eating patterns and a discussion with me on the important aspects to be aware of may keep you on track.

The Health Minister (Greg Hunt) announced that telehealth services are available immediately and will be in place until at least September, 2020. Telehealth services are offered as follows:

  1. A telephone call, where I will call you on your designated number at the time of  the appointment; or,
  2. A video-conference using a secured platform called ZOOM.

If you are interested in a video conference, I would encourage you to download ZOOM (https://zoom.us/download). It is FREE to download and easy to use.

If you’d prefer to have your next appointment via a telehealth video-conference, please inform our reception staff when they are confirming your appointment so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
